The Serbian Heritage Academy of Canada (SHA) is a non-profit registered charity organization established in 1981, and the following year, in 1982, it received the Charity Status as a registered charitable organization.

The founders and the first Board members were: Nikola Pašić, lawyer, a grandson of the famous Serbian statesman, Sofija Škorić, librarian of the University of Toronto, Dušan Bijelić, art historian, Nikola Alexeichenko, civil engineer and Paul Pavlovich, teacher and Vice-Principal.

Our
mission is to support and encourage activities that deal with important cultural, educational, historical and social issues that relate to the Canadian-Serbian Community in Canada and Serbian heritage in general.

The basic principles of the Serbian Heritage Academy, as expected of this type of an organization, were and still remain to be solely of cultural and educational character.
